Here are some videos at the French World game cup recently:

On Eventhubs and other places. It seems that people have been arguing about how it was unfair that Daigo went against a "Console Character" So I wrote this comment:

"Ok the argument about knowing the matchup or not is irrelevant. So let's take a look at this:

Personal opinion, I love Daigo. Even if he wasn't the greatest player, the way he can go after a match or 2 against a character that he hasn't played much against and lose (Such as against Justin Wong's Boxer at Evo last year). He quickly came back by reading Justin's moves and style after and win EVO. This time though he took longer, but after losing the semi-finals we can see at a fast rate of how he could read Luffy style when the 2v2 matches start and take first there. Luffy's style seems to be calm and taking the opportunity to wait for the opponent to miss or predict what he will do next. It takes concentration to think while fighting at a fast pace which is why I praise him and Daigo, being one, if not, the best, for having one of the highest tolerance of concentration at this game. Even though Luffy used a "Console Character" against someone like Daigo who doesn't get on the console that much except in tournaments, Justin Wong has said that this shouldn't be a hindrance because he goes to high-level tournaments anyway and should be prepared for anything. Since SF4 has been out for over a year already, Daigo should have some if not more matches against Rose. So it wasn't because he hasn't been prepared against someone using Rose, it was Luffy being calm and also studying Daigo carefully after the first match. Sure Luffy has had more matches against Ryu probably, but he still lost to Daigo in the first match and then during 2v2. So I congratulate both players on their skill and hope to see Luffy at EVO as well as SSF4 coming so that Daigo and other great players can practice their moves and hopefully show us a great EVO this year."

So what is your intake on this?

I do like Daigo's Ryu but I think he sometimes makes some mistakes as shown in the video. I would try to use more of his EX Hadouken against Rose in the fireball fight because that's how Rose got him to lose some if not more damage in those matches. I think he was saving for Shoryuken + FADC + Ultra, but he has more ways of doing it such as the Air Hurricane Kick to Ultra. My favorite Ryu has to be Poongko. He's got great execution and his combos are impressive.

Daigo seems to do alot pokes and cr. mk to fireballs after, even on chip damage, still good, too bad I havent seem to many ryu players that are famous though, but More than Rose's. It's alooot harder to find good rose.
